A place where customers can experience a moment of calm in the chaotic cityscape of Bangkok, we create outstanding features using concrete, glass blocks, and LED flex as the main materials to create different textures and details.
Calm Cool and Concrete
Entering the saturated Café market in Bangkok is a daring move. It was clear a bold design solution would be needed to stand out in such a crowded market. But our approach was rather counter-intuitive- using understatement as a means to stand out in the crowd. Creating a place for customers to discover- a moment of calm amongst the chaotic Bangkok urban streetscape.
Our creative director undertook a sophisticated study in urban minimalism. An approach that not only served the purpose of market differentiation but also minimised the investment in support of a lean business model.
With an industrial materials pallet of concrete, glass block, and stainless steel- the intrinsic aesthetics of common materials is emphasised. Artistic measures- including a very long, cantilevered counter that seems to float within the space, and emphasising the high volume with a sculptural LED lighting element as a ‘light cloud’.
The Other Café- stand out as an example of timeless urban minimalism that transcends trend, that has already garnered an appreciative customer base.
